“Her Admirer”

Chapter 2
Author’s POV
After Jungkook, Jimin, and Taehyung left the hall, the principal and teachers continued welcoming the new students. They explained the university rules, expectations, and upcoming events. But the announcement that caught everyone’s attention was about the Freshers’ Masquerade Party, hosted by the seniors that very night.
Excitement buzzed through the hall as students whispered to each other, already imagining their outfits. The teachers mentioned that the campus would provide masks, and details about the party would be shared in the university group chat. Titles would also be awarded this year Ms. Beautiful, Mr. Handsome, and the grand title of Mr. & Ms. Couple, a new addition meant to make the event even more thrilling.
While the students rejoiced, lost in the excitement of their first university event, on the other side of the campus, a storm of obsession was brewing in Jungkook's mind.
Jungkook’s POV
The classroom was buzzing with excitement about the Freshers’ Party, but I sat there, arms crossed, barely paying attention. Jimin, Taehyung, and the guy sitting next to me, Mingyu , were already deep in discussion about the event.
“The theme is masquerade, huh? Sounds fun,” Mingyu said, stretching lazily. “And the titles thing is new this year. Wonder who’s gonna win Mr. & Ms. Couple.”
Jimin chuckled. “Not Jungkook, that’s for sure. He won’t even attend.”
I rolled my eyes at their conversation, my mind elsewhere. The girl from this morning. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t shake the memory of her. That brief moment when our eyes met—it wasn’t normal. There was something about her, something that refused to leave my mind.
Mingyu must have noticed my silence because he leaned forward. “Why’s Jungkook so quiet today?” he asked, looking at Jimin and Taehyung for answers.
Jimin smirked. “Oh, he’s been acting weird since this morning. A boy almost got hit by his bike, and a girl saved him at the last second.”
Taehyung added, “The funny part? Jungkook didn’t even see her face. Just her eyes. And now, he’s acting like some love-struck idiot.”
Mingyu’s lips curled into a grin. “Wait, wait. Let me get this straight. You saw just her eyes, and you’re already this lost?”
I snapped out of my thoughts and glared at them. “You three, shut up. It’s not like that.”
Mingyu raised a brow, amusement dancing in his expression. “Then why are you acting like this?”
I clicked my tongue in annoyance, pushing my chair back abruptly. I needed air. I needed to clear my head. Without another word, I walked out of the classroom, ignoring their laughter behind me.
The cool breeze hit my face as I stepped onto the terrace, but it did nothing to calm the storm inside me. Why the hell was I so affected by her?
Leaning against the railing, I ran a hand through my hair, frustration boiling inside me. I wasn’t the type to obsess over a girl. In fact, I barely cared about them. But this… this was different.
As I exhaled sharply, my gaze fell on the other side of the campus. My eyes lazily scanned the building until
I froze.
A girl. Sitting at the last bench in the adjacent lecture hall.
The sunlight streamed in through the window, illuminating her face as she rested her head on her folded arms. Her long lashes fluttered slightly as if she were in deep thought or asleep.
My chest tightened.
It’s her.
A strange, unexplainable pull rooted me in place. I squinted, trying to see her features more clearly, but the sun’s glare made it difficult. Instinctively, I raised my hand slightly, shielding my eyes from the brightness, and in that moment
Her eyes.
Pearl-like. Glowing in the golden sunlight.
A whisper left my lips before I could stop myself. “Shining like a pearl… My Pearl.”
But just as I took a step forward, determined to see more, something unexpected happened.
A pair of hands suddenly wrapped around me from behind.
“Jagiyaaa~!”
I was tense. My body froze in sheer disgust.
That voice. That damn voice.
I turned sharply, pushing the person away. “What the fck, Aru?!” My voice was sharp, filled with irritation. “What the hell is your problem? Stop following me!”
Aru, my classmate, stood there pouting, clearly unfazed by my anger. “But Jungkook, I like you,” she whined, stepping closer. “We’re both rich, we look perfect together. We should be a couple.”
I let out a humorless chuckle, my patience snapping. “So what? I don’t like girls like you.” My voice dripped with venom. “You’re desperate, arrogant, and honestly? It’s creepy. Stay the hell away from me.”
A flicker of anger crossed her face, but before she could say anything, I had already turned away, walking past her like she didn’t exist.
I didn’t have time for her pathetic obsession.
Aru’s POV
I stood there, fists clenched, rage bubbling inside me as I watched Jungkook walk away.
How dare he?
How dare he reject me like that?
Grinding my teeth, I dug my nails into my palm. “You’re mine, Jungkook,” I whispered darkly. “You just don’t know it yet. But soon… you will.”
Y/N’s POV
After the welcome session, all the freshers headed to their classrooms. I quietly walked to my seat at the last bench, near the window. The lecture hadn’t started yet, and honestly, I felt exhausted.
I leaned forward, resting my head on my folded arms, letting my eyes drift shut. The warmth of the sunlight made me drowsy, and before I knew it, I was asleep.
I don’t know how long I had dozed off, but suddenly, a sharp beam of light made me squint. Groggily, I lifted my head, blinking rapidly.
And that’s when my eyes caught something.
A man standing on the terrace of the next building. Tattoos covering his hand.
And my sister hugging him.
My brows furrowed. Is she dating him? A new boyfriend?
Before I could see his face clearly, the professor’s sharp voice snapped me back to reality.
“Y/N! Sleeping in my class?! Get out and stand outside!”
Laughter erupted in the room, and my face burned with embarrassment. Keeping my head low, I grabbed my bag and quickly walked out, standing outside like a child being punished.
But even as I stood there, my thoughts kept drifting back to the tattooed guy on the terrace.
Jungkook’s POV
After leaving the terrace, I made my way back to class, my mind still tangled in thoughts of her.
Was it really her sitting there?
Something inside me said yes, but I needed to be sure.
I walked back into the classroom, taking my seat beside Mingyu. Jimin and Taehyung sat behind us, still buzzing about tonight’s party.
Our second lecture began, but I wasn’t paying attention. My fingers tapped against the desk, my mind racing. If she’s really a student here, I need a way to find out.
And then an idea struck me.
At lunch break, I motioned for Jimin, Taehyung, and Mingyu to follow me. We made our way up to the rooftop, our secret spot.
Mingyu leaned against the railing. “Alright, spill. What’s going on?”
I exhaled sharply before speaking. “I’m going to the party tonight.”
Jimin and Taehyung exchanged shocked glances before grinning.
“Finally!” Jimin clapped my shoulder. “I thought you were gonna be a boring old man and skip it.”
I rolled my eyes but continued. “But I need your help.”
Mingyu raised a brow. “With what?”
I smirked. “A dress.”
Taehyung frowned. “A dress? For who?”
I leaned forward. “For her.”
The three of them stared at me, confusion flickering across their faces.
Jimin was the first to speak. “Wait… you don’t even know who she is! How the hell are you gonna give her a dress?”
I smirked. “I don’t need to. I’ll just make sure she wears it.”
Taehyung folded his arms. “And how are you so sure she’ll wear your dress?”
I leaned back, confidence settling in. “Because it’ll be expensive. No girl would deny wearing a designer gown especially a fresher.”
Mingyu let out a low whistle. “Damn, you’re actually insane.”
I shrugged. “I need to see her again. I need to confirm if it’s really her.”
Jimin tilted his head. “And how will you recognize her? You haven’t seen her face.”
I exhaled, my gaze darkening. “Her eyes. If I see those pearl-like eyes again… I’ll know.”
Mingyu nodded. “Alright, I’ll get the dress arranged.”
Author’s POV
By the last period, the plan was set.
As most of the class went outside for sports, Jungkook’s men sneaked the gown into her bag. It was the exact shade to match his suit elegant, unique, and impossible to miss.
Y/N’s POV
The last period was free, so most students rushed to the playground.
But I wasn’t interested. I had no friends, and standing alone in a crowd wasn’t something I wanted.
Instead, I walked up to the terrace.
The cool breeze kissed my face as I closed my eyes, breathing it in. For a moment, the world felt quiet like I could escape.
But even then… my mind wandered back to what I saw earlier.
Aru.Hugging that guy.
I still couldn’t shake the strange feeling that settled in my chest. Who was he? Why did he feel familiar?
The loud ringing of the bell snapped me out of my thoughts.
With a sigh, I made my way down and grabbed my bag. The moment I slung it over my shoulder, I felt something heavy inside.
Frowning, I unzipped it.And froze.A dress.?
A stunning, expensive ball gown sat neatly folded inside.
My breath hitched. What the hell?
Who put this here?
A sticky note was attached.
"Wear this tonight.
- J "
J?
Who the hell was J?
I swallowed. Did someone put it in my bag by mistake? But this dress… was no ordinary gown. The material felt rich, the embroidery flawless.
A part of me wanted to ignore it. But another part of me… was curious.
And curiosity was a dangerous thing.
Author’s POV
The Masquerade Party was in full swing.
The grand hall shimmered under golden chandeliers, the air thick with the scent of expensive cologne and delicate perfumes. Laughter and music echoed as students twirled and swayed to the rhythm.
Jungkook stood at the edge of the crowd, his sharp gaze scanning the room. He had no interest in the party itself—his only goal was her.
And then, his eyes landed on her.
The girl in the dress he had chosen.
She moved through the crowd, her red mask concealing her identity. The gown fit her perfectly, as if it had been crafted just for her.
His pulse quickened.
Jimin, Taehyung, and Mingyu nudged him. “Bro, go dance with her.”
Jungkook scoffed. “Why would I”
Before he could refuse, Jimin grabbed his wrist and pulled him toward the dance floor.
"Go. You’re not escaping this tonight."
Jungkook glared at him but before he could react, the girl turned her eyes met his.
And for a second, the world stilled.
Something flickered in his chest.
Is it her?
Before he could figure it out, the DJ switched to a slow song.
Students paired up, moving closer.
The girl hesitated before stepping onto the dance floor. And to Jungkook’s surprise, she extended her hand toward him.
An unspoken challenge.
Jungkook smirked. “Brave, aren’t you?”
Instead of answering, she simply tilted her head.
He took her hand.
The moment he pulled her close, he noticed how small she felt in his arms. She was light, delicate yet, there was something unspoken in her presence.
The music flowed, and they danced.
Jungkook’s grip tightened around her waist. “Do I know you?”
She didn’t reply.
Instead, she looked up—her eyes locking onto his.
His breath hitched.
But something felt off.
Why don't I feel the same pull?
Jungkook’s brows furrowed. His grip loosened slightly, his mind racing.
Before he could dwell on it, the music ended, and the host’s voice boomed through the speakers.
“Alright, everyone! It’s time for the award ceremony!”
Cheers erupted.
Jungkook stepped back, his gaze still locked onto the girl. But before he could say anything, the crowd moved, pushing them toward the front.
“Tonight, only four titles will be given!” the host announced. “And the winners will be decided by our spotlight selection! Wherever the light lands, that person wins the title.”
The hall fell silent as the first spotlight moved across the room.
The beam danced over the crowd, stopping suddenly
Taehyung.
“Mr. Handsome of the night goes to Taehyung!”
The crowd erupted in cheers as he smirked, walking up to the stage to claim his sash.
The spotlight moved again.
This time, it landed on a random fresher girl.
“Ms. Beautiful of the night! Congratulations!” Jungkook barely paid attention. His fingers twitched. His heartbeat thumped against his ribs. The final award was left.
The one he wasn’t expecting."And now, for the most anticipated title of the night... Mr. & Ms. Couple of the Night!" The room buzzed with anticipation. The spotlight started moving.
Jungkook clenched his fists. And then The light froze. On him.And the girl standing beside him.His body stiffened. His pulse spiked.
The crowd erupted into deafening cheers as the host announced, “And our final winners… are none other than our mysterious masked couple! Let’s give them a huge round of applause!”
Jungkook's breath felt shallow. His heart pounded in his chest. The host stepped forward, smiling. “Now, as tradition goes… the winning couple must remove their masks in front of everyone!”
The crowd chanted.“Take it off! Take it off!”Jungkook’s jaw tightened. This was it.The moment of truth. His fingers twitched as he reached for his mask, his breath unsteady.
The girl did the same.Slowly, he pulled it away
He didn’t look up immediately. His mind was spinning, his chest rising and falling. And thenHe finally lifted his gaze. The moment his eyes landed on her face, his mask slipped from his fingers.
His pupils dilated. His body went rigid. The air stilled. His entire world collapsed.
“Is She really her…?!”
